RNARISE™ is now a registered UK trademark

We are delighted to announce that RNARISE™ has been officially registered as a trademark with the UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO), published in Trade Marks Journal 2026/016. This is an important milestone for CamMed RNA Therapeutics and marks another step in our commitment to building a robust and protected intellectual property portfolio around our next-generation RNA platform.

"The trademark registration of RNARISE™ reflects our confidence in this technology and our long-term commitment to bringing it to patients."

What is RNARISE™?

RNARISE™ is CamMed's proprietary non-viral self-amplifying RNA platform — a fourth-generation mRNA technology that we believe addresses the key limitations of existing RNA therapeutic approaches. Inspired by the evolutionary relationship between ancient RNA-based life forms and modern DNA systems, RNARISE™ is built around a novel RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (replicase) identified through an AI-assisted screening pipeline spanning over 2,200 candidates.

Unlike conventional mRNA (as used in the COVID-19 vaccines), RNARISE™ is designed to self-amplify inside target cells — meaning that a much smaller initial dose is required to achieve therapeutically meaningful protein expression. Unlike viral self-amplifying RNA approaches currently in development, RNARISE™ bypasses the formation of double-stranded RNA intermediates, which are a primary driver of innate immune activation and toxicity with existing platforms.

Why Trademark Protection Matters

Registering RNARISE™ as a trademark protects the brand identity of our platform technology as we advance it through pre-clinical development, licensing discussions, and ultimately clinical translation. It ensures that the name RNARISE™ is exclusively associated with CamMed's platform — giving our partners, investors, and future patients clarity and confidence about the origin and quality of the technology they are engaging with.

The trademark registration complements our existing patent filing with UKIPO and together these form the foundation of CamMed's growing IP estate. As we progress toward our first animal proof-of-concept studies and licensing partnerships with biotech and pharmaceutical companies, having clearly protected IP is essential to the value of those relationships.
